Holiday home for max. 4 adults + 4 children
Lessay, Normandy, (Côte des Isles), France
Four original natural stone farmhouses recently (2009) converted into romantic holiday cottages, on an 18th-century country estate, with an animal park and a playing lawn, right by a stream and a pond with water lilies
This country state about 300 years old is nestled into the lush landscape of Normandy on the Cotentin peninsula in the north-west of Normandy. The area is characterised by swamps, extensive heaths and wild coasts with white sandy beaches. It is a paradise for a nature and beach holiday with a child and dog.
The farm consists of the imposing former main farmhouse and two natural stone barns, which have been converted into four modern holiday houses. Attention was paid to preserving traditional elements and combining them stylishly with modern comfort. The stone floors and the wooden ceiling beams tell the story of past times. The owner also lives on the farm.
The 35,000 km² carefully tended site borders a stream and a picturesque pond with water lilies. The interior courtyard has a grill area and plenty of garden furniture. You can enjoy leisurely meals outdoors here. Children will enjoy the fenced animal park and the generous playing lawn with a swing and a trampoline, while adults can withdraw to a sun lounger in one of the orchards with a good book. A car is recommended during your stay and there are secure parking spaces right in front of the house.
Although the owner in the main house is always mindful of your privacy, he is happy to assist with any queries. Your dog is welcome at a small supplementary charge.
The country estate is about 10km from the St. German, Pirou and Lindbergh Plage sandy beaches, about 10-15 minutes by car. It is about 3km to the centre of the little town of Lessay with a range of shops, colourful markets and good gastronomy.
Spacious holiday cottage with a grill area on the private, roofed terrace and shared access to a heated outdoor pool
The generous holiday cottage with 130m² of living space is on two floors. It provides a living and dining room flooded with daylight with an integrated, open kitchen, three bedrooms and three modern bathrooms (two en-suite). The 65m² living room is on the ground floor and has three comfortable sofas, a wooden coffee table, a digital TV with a satellite receiver, a DVD and CD player, a safe for your valuables and a rustic dining table with six chairs. A cast-iron fireplace stove enhances the sense of well-being and exudes pleasant warmth on cooler evenings. An elegant breakfast bar separates the dining space from the kitchen, equipped with a dishwasher, a four-zone gas stove with a cooker hood, an oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and washing machine. Wide stairs lead to the upper floor with the bedrooms and bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have a double bed (140 x 190cm), while the third has two bunk beds (90 x 190cm) for four children. The double bedrooms have their own convenient en-suite bathrooms, while the additional separate bathroom is for use by those in the children’s bedroom. The en-suite bathrooms each have a shower cubicle, while the separate bathroom has a bath with a shower attachment, and they all have a washbasin with a wall mirror and a toilet. Children’s beds can be provided on request, a highchair is available. Plenty of bed linen is provided and the reliable wireless Internet connection in the cottage can be used free of charge.
Big glass doors in the living room open onto the private terrace with a grill, a dining table with chairs and a view over the beautiful garden with a pond with water lilies.
